Description

Indianola Public Schools is seeking responsible, dependable, and safety-minded individuals to serve as School Bus Drivers. Bus drivers play a vital role in our district by safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities while maintaining a positive and respectful environment on the bus.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes and schedules
Transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities
Ensure student safety at all times during loading, unloading, and transit
Maintain proper student behavior and enforce bus rules in a professional manner
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
Maintain accurate records as required by district and state guidelines
Communicate effectively with transportation staff and school administrators
Provide a positive and supportive environment for students
Required Qualifications Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school bus endorsement
Clean driving record
Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
Strong commitment to student safety and responsibility
Ability to follow safety procedures and transportation regulations
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a bus driver or in transportation services
CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements already obtained
Experience working with children or in a school setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
