Description

Indianola Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-focused 5th & 6th Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality instruction in a supportive, engaging classroom environment that promotes academic growth and positive character development.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach core subjects (ELA, and social studies) for 5th and 6th grade students
Deliver instruction aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS)
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Assess student progress and adjust instruction based on data
Prepare students for state assessments through effective instruction and practice
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
Collaborate with staff to support student achievement and school improvement goals
Incorporate technology and hands-on learning opportunities
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
Valid Oklahoma teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies
Ability to work effectively with upper elementary students
Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching upper elementary grades (5th–6th preferred)
Familiarity with Oklahoma state standards and testing expectations
Experience using data to guide instruction
Strong communication and teamwork skills
